Magic Mondays

Message Content A magical writing scene with a luxurious, ornate black and gold pen hovering above aged parchment, releasing shimmering sparkles as it writes on its own. The parchment rests on a wooden desk surrounded by old books, ink bottles, and a lit candle, casting a warm glow. Behind the desk, a window reveals a star-filled sky, adding to the enchanting, mystical atmosphere. At the top, glowing golden letters spell “Magic Mondays”. The whole scene feels enchanting and full of old-world wizardry.

More than Magic

When we think of magic, we think of witches, warlocks, and mages. We think of people of power who use it for good or evil. Or, we conjure fae folk who double cross humans and aren’t allowed to break their promises or lie. We consider necromancers  or animators who can wake the dead. Maybe you even remember pixies and sprites from childhood stories and cartoons. But isn’t there something out there that’s more than magic.

There’s the realization of romance. It’s like magic. It evolves over time, spinning its own spell over two unsuspecting people who probably had no intentions of ever falling in love. Then, us authors come along and upend their worlds with a little fae magic and trickery of our own.

So, yes, there are other things that act like magic. From the fingers of writers tapping madly upon the keys creating strange brews disguised as tea. Kitchen witches with their herbs, spices, and meals, and scents, brew, bubbling, and baking. No one sees us coming with our pens, papers, or keyboards and monitors. We lay in the background, weaving our spells over our characters, and positioning them just right for the fall, and like Cupid, notching his arrow and hitting his target with deft precision, we create chaos in order to inflame and arouse our subjects through the inevitability of love and happy endings.

The next time you meet a romance author be ware, we might be gunning for your heart next.

Didn’t you know, we make the best matchmakers?

Our couples have their own testimonies.

If you’d like to see Sam and Sy’s testimony, have a read of Fractured

and tell other readers what you think.

Maybe you’ll find yourself bitten by Cupid’s arrow, next!
